"Hors-d'oeuvres/Cocktail" type party or casual buffet where your guests can mingle and be casual work best on RiverQuest. We suggest a maximum of 40 guests for everyone's comfort.

"Intimate Sit-Down Dinner" for this type of gathering, please plan on a maximum of 25 guests.

Food: On RiverQuest, you supply your own cuisine. Depending on the event, bring Hors D'oeuvres, a potluck dinner, choose a caterer or we can supply you with a list of caterers who are familiar with RiverQuest.
                                                                                                                                                                                           Beverage: Any beverage, including alcohol is allowed. Please plan to bring and serve your own. If you need us to supply coolers for your beverages or ice, let us know, RiverQuest has three medium sized coolers available for your use.

Miscellaneous: There are tables and chairs available that can be arranged to fit your party needs. We have vinyl table clothes on the tables that you can use or bring your own. Bring your own dishware and "paper" supplies. Children of any age are allowed on your private cruise. Decorations are allowed, however, you'll want to keep it simple!

Music: There is a sound system on-board, so, please, bring your favorite CD's or your Ipod  (PLEASE, NO RAP) to listen to on your cruise. 

Duration: A minimum of two hours is required for all Private Charters. For Showers, Weddings or Birthday Parties will there will be gifts, a cake and speeches, we strongly suggest a three hour charter. If we have nothing scheduled after your charter, you can add an extra hour on anytime during your cruise.     

Re-location: We can pick your group up at a dock other than the dock at the Connecticut River Museum, Essex. There will be a re-location fee, along with any other fees (example: docking, parking) that may be charged to us. We must approve the dock. E-mail or call us to discuss options.

Photo on the left is an intimate "sitting area". Photo on the right is taken from the front of the cabin looking towards the stern and shows a partial view of the interior cabin of RiverQuest. Chairs and tables will be arranged to suit your personal needs. Normally, there is a bar setup in the stern and your food setup is in the front of the cabin, just in front of the "sitting area", on two 6' tables set up on an "L". Your guests can mingle and are welcome to go out on the bow or sit on the bench that lines the stern of  RiverQuest.

2008 Private Charter Prices (as of 6-16-2008):                                                                           Charter price includes the entire vessel, along with the Captain and Crew, to be exclusively yours. **                                                                                                                                       Weekdays & Sunday, Weekday Evenings, Weekend Mornings, Afternoons in October (after 3:00pm): $450/hour for the first two hours = to $900, each additional hour is $250.                                                   

 Friday and Saturday Evenings (June, July, August and September): $500/hour for the first two hours = to $1000, each additional hour is $250.                                                                                                      

 February and March: $1200 for a 2 hour Eagle Cruise, 35 person maximum (coffee and tea included).

**RiverQuest personnel will be glad to help you with setup and breakdown. Setup and breakdown time are included as part of your chartered hour, so please account for this when you plan your charter. If you require extra time for setup at the dock: $100/hour. Note: Price includes all fees except tip.

Available Dates: Check our Calendar for available dates. If an evening lists "Public Sunset Cruise", that evening is available for a Private Charter.                                                                                       Also, through September and October, on weekdays, we can book a late afternoon cruise.                          If an evening is not available, please consider a morning charter.                                                                                 THE VESSEL ADVENTURE UNDERWAY

NOT YET IN SERVICE BUT GETTING CLOSE (kinda!)!!: Adventure is a new addition to Connecticut River Expedition's vessel RiverQuest that we hope will be in service and ready for private charters late 2008.  Adventure will be great for corporate events and individual parties! We have our Coast Guard Stability Test scheduled for late June. From that test, we will know how many passengers Adventure can handle on a Private Charter. Stay tuned.
