*WHAT'S HAPPENING ON
THE RIVER* |
|
May 10:
Ended up being a very nice day here on the river. We could clearly see our Essex
Eagles, both the two babies and one parent. The leaves are almost full. Most of
the flowering trees have gone by. The budding foliage is still beautiful. Today
looks like a great day for a boat ride. Come join us! Happy Mother's Day.
We went up to East Haddam on our little boat,
Scout, and saw Mom gingerly feeding "someone" in the nest.
Mom Ospreys are all nesting still. no evidence of
babies, although on a couple of the nests we should see evidence soon.
Hope
to see you aboard. Thanks, Mindy.
There is a really
good website:
http://www.friendsofblackwater.org/ that has an eagle and osprey cam. On the
top left of the site, click on Raptor Cam. The eaglets in this nest are only a
couple of days older than our eaglets. This site is also a very informative
site. Check out the cams, but, also read the log. They have links to many other
cams and a lot of interesting facts. |
